Prelims will be held after the first 15 slots are taken by entries. The same rules from round one will apply. Producers will battle head to head until there is only one left to fill the 16th position in the tournament.

There is no limit to what kind of beat you play, keep in mind that this is a battle though. An R&B beat will not win against an aggressive beat. This round will be done with cd’s. Producers are to have their tracks pre selected. Judges will choose the winner to advance.

The next round will be a remix round. Producers will be given one song to remix. This will be head to head as well. This round will be done with cd’s. Producers are to have their tracks pre selected. Judges will choose the winner to advance.
Round 3 (4 Producers)
The third round will have the sample/no sample round – In this round you will play two beats that are two minutes each. One beat, you will play the original sample at the start of your time then you will proceed to play your two minute beat. Then you will play another track for two minutes with no samples whatsoever. You will explain to the judges how you made all your sounds. Drums may be the only thing sampled in this round. This round will be done with cd’s. Producers are to have their tracks pre selected. Judges will choose the winner to advance.
Round 4 (2 Producers)
The final round will be the live equipment round- You will be given a time limit in which you are to create a beat using only one crate of records that both producers will dig through. There will be a coin toss and the winning producer will get to dig first. You will each have access to a record player in which you can pull the sounds from. If you make beats off of a computer you must bring your own set up. Equipment will not be provided this round.
The winner will get $1,000 cash
